"This partially enrolled, Phacops Trilobite is big, about 5.5 inches long and about 2.75 inch wide. Nearly perfect, with excellent detail. Look at the eyes! Incredable! Great detail on the faceted compound eyes. This trilobite sits on a pedestal that is about 1.5 inches tall. This Phacops trilobite is from the Devonian Period and is about 360 million years olld.. It is over 350 million years old. Trilobites were one of the first animals to develop vision back in the Cambrian Period. Phacops trilobites had reletively large compound eyes that enabled it to see nearly 360o. Phacops belongs to the order of trilobites called Phacopida. This specimen was found in Essimour, Alnif, Morocco.
