Septarian Nodual Polished N

This polished Septarian nodule N  is from Southern Utah. It is about 3 inches across and has a flat base.  Septarians were formed during the late Cretaceous Period. They are a rock formed of clacite and  aragonite in a mudstone matrix. Sometimes called a psudo fossils, these beautiful stones are fossilized mud cracks from dried out lake beds.
