This Pterosaur tooth is just over 1 inch long. There have been no breaks or repairs. The species name is Siroccopteryx moroccensis, a large flying reptile. This is the only described species from Morocco. It comes from Kem Kem, Morocco, and is from the Cretaceous Period making it about 100 million years old. Pterosaurs were flying reptiles. The first pterosaurs in the fossil record were from the Late Triassic Period. They ruled the skies until the end of the Cretaceous Period when a mass extinction wiped them out along with the dinosaurs and thousands of other species. Pterosaurs were the first vertabrates to achieve powered flight.
