This Polished Stromatolite Freeform Piece is about 1.5 - 2 inch across. The polished surface shows the many layers of the fossil. These fossils are the remains of blue-green algae or cyanobacteria. Stromatolites are some of the oldest fossils on earth. These stromatolite fossils are from the Proterozoic Era and are about 2.3 billion years old. They come from Bolivia in South America.
