Description
These ammonites are great collection starters! We call them buttons, but they are not for your clothing. They are fossil ammonites encased in a red to brown matrix. The fossils are highly polished on one side, showing crystaline formations inside the tiny chambers. Divisions between the chambers, called septa, are often visible all the way into the center curl. The ammonites are from Morocco and vary in size. The disks including matrix are 2.5-3 inches in diameter. This is a sample of our inventory. Each piece is different but all are comparable to the samples in the picture. Includes information card.
