Neuropteris Fern Fossil 03

This Neuropteris Fern Fossil 03 is on a matrix that is  about 3 inches long and 1.75 inches wide. The front has a 1.75 inch fossil, the back has faint fossil definition as well. It is from the Pennsylvanian Epoch of the Carboniferous Period and is about 300 million years old. This was the time when the great coal deposits of the world were laid down. The matrix is shale. It was found in Eastern Kentucky.
