"Halite is also known as rock salt. The chemical formula is NaCl or Sodium Chloride. It forms when saltwater evaporates. Halite normally forms perfect cubes, look at ordinary table salt with a magnifying glass. Halite can be clear or have a pink cast to it. The pink color comes from bacterial debris that has been trapped in the salt crystals. The piece pictured here is a sample of our inventory Your piece of halite will look very much like the one pictured here. They are about 1 inch x 1 inches in size."
