"This Crinoid Holdfast D is from Eucalyptocrinus. The holdfast is a root-like structure that the crinoid used to anchor itself to the sea floor. This fossil was alive during the middle Silurian Period and is about 424 million years in age. It was found in the Waldron Shale Formation. This holdfast is 2.5 inches X 2 inches.
