Stibnite

Stibnite is metallic in appearance, from a shiny steel gray to dull gray. It forms clumps of long thin orthorhombic crystals. Also known as antimonite, it is found in low temperature hydrothermal veins and hot springs deposits. Stibnite is the primary source of antimony which is used to harden metals and to reduce friction. Large crystal clusters are prized by collectors for their spectacular appearance. Hardness: Soft (2) Shiny metallic luster
